So when the (twice extended) deadline for the mortgage commitment arrived, I started asking for status. After two days of faxing, e-mails, and calls, I received a pro-forma fax request for yet an another 15 day extension.
With no status report or even a single word of personalization that would give my client a clue as to what was going on, I had to call my clients to see if they’d grant the extension.
My clients dictated exactly how I should respond to the buyer’s counsel’s impersonal response: “Sellers demand to know if your client actually gives a shit about buying this house.”
Think the buyer’s attorney has a form response to that question?
