Dr. Big Stuff

My client was a surgeon, used to giving orders in the OR.  While he was buying a house, he bristled at all the documents demanded by his mortgage broker.

He complained to me about the scrutiny, so I advised him that lenders investigate most borrowers this way. I assured him that it was just business and nothing personal.

He seemed mollified, but the next time we spoke, he expressed more indignation. “It’s not like I’m a farmer or something,” he said. “They know I’m a surgeon, and that should be enough.”
