Lobs, Smashes, and Topspin

The building was posh but the suite occupants were apparently not.  The sort-of shaky closing table was covered by the kind of tablecloths you’d find at a neighborhood trattoria. This created a difficult surface to write on, especially where the seams of tablecloths overlapped. But hey, if my clients get the money due them, who am I to question the table?

As I prepared to leave the closing, my briefcase caught up a portion of the tablecloth.  It pulled a whole section upwards and then backwards, revealing that the closing table was actually not so much furniture as it was sporting equipment.

It's your serve!
