Clap Your Hands For This Story

My clients had been trying to sell their home for a very long time, without success. So they asked to come in and chat about any marketing or sales ideas I might have.

These lovely people’s clothing was covered in what appeared to be animal fur. After bouncing a few ideas around, I asked, “Do you have animals that might scare potential buyers or trigger allergic reactions?”

It seems that I was clairvoyant! Amazed, they shared that they had three cats.  According to the wife, they were all clean and well-behaved. “Well, not Tiger Lily,” said the husband.  “She likes to surprise-drop off a shelf onto strangers, but so far people have laughed when she does that.”

Had they considered that while buyers may find the cat’s antics amusing, the feline dive-bombing might prove a distraction from the house’s selling features? Perhaps even a deterrent to the sale? [Never mind that I was envisioning the whole house covered in kitty hair.]

“We could ask our neighbor to come over and play with the cats when people come to look at the house,” ventured the wife. “Tiger Lily loves Peter!” tiger lily peter
