Dear Herma Phrodite

Here’s a very modern dilemma: The counsel for the buyer reached out to me via e-mail, and I transmitted contracts the same way in return.  I have zero clue from the attorney’s name as to gender, and a Google search neither yielded an image nor a hint as to whether the name is predominantly used by one gender or the other.

I didn’t know how to phrase the cover letter accompanying signed documents. I went with with “Dear Counselor,” but that was a complete cop-out.

I’ve thought about making up a reason to call, but if s/he didn’t answer, and the person who answers doesn’t say Law Office of Complicated & Unsatisfactorily Un-Searchable Attorney, I am unsure how to even pronounce the mystery lawyer’s name!
