How Does My Garden Grow?

A recent home buyer called to ask a question I’d never heard before. She wondered, “Who owns all the zucchini and tomatoes in my garden?”

When I assured her that the Deed she received a few weeks back meant that she did, she laughed and said, “I thought so. But the seller’s son just called me to say he’d be by within the next few days to pick the vegetables his parents planted.”

Since she didn’t want him to take the food, I told her to lock the gate and put up a “No Tresspassing” sign.  I also emailed the sellers’ counsel that my client didn’t want to share her paid-for bounty. He responded with, “Why do you give a crap about this?”

I don’t know why I do. I just do… and my reward, Mr. Couldcareless, was a tasty zucchini bread and a bag of tomatoes, delivered by my client in gratitude. So there!
