Yesterday’s blog reminded me of a story I told a long, long time ago…
My client bought a home, and at the end of the transaction, the closing attorney handed him a gift bag. The attorney said that that the mortgage company wanted to thank him for his business.
My client opened the bag, saw that it contained wine, and handed it back with a polite, “No, thank you, I am a Pastor. I don’t touch alcohol”.
The closing attorney seemed a bit taken aback. In an attempt to make him feel better, the real estate agent said, “Oh, that’s nothing. I used to give out cookies until a customer said she was diabetic. Then I switched to champagne, and the first guy I gave it to said he was an alcoholic. Since some people are allergic to flowers, I just give everybody that buys a house a free carwash now.”
