Tossed Salad Friday

~~ While driving home from a seminar yesterday, I heard an author on NPR talking about the formerly crippling nature of his OCD, and the work it took to surmount the tumult in his brain. Like a lightning bolt, I had a searing moment of clarity as I realized how grateful I am that I take my mental health for granted. http://www.npr.org/2012/03/29/149619994/triggered-anxiety-and-the-doubting-disorder

~~An attorney at a closing tried to impress everyone with how he knows everything. Then he asked to use the bank attorney’s correction tape, as his was “running low.” How can it be that a man who knows all has occasion to erase so much of his work?

~~ This story in Tuesday’s NY Times  http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/27/nyregion/securing-an-apartment-with-help-from-a-love-letter.html?_r=1&ref=theappraisal affirms what I often tell clients who can’t bid higher, but really love a house. The advice is also spot-on about letter writers sticking to the topic and never veering off:  I had a client once who wanted to advise the seller that she couldn’t afford to bid higher as her family trust funds hadn’t performed “up to expectations.”

~~ When I opened the folder of materials to begin my presentation, I saw a sticky-note right at the top. It bore a smiley face and a heart, plus words of encouragement from my husband. Wow, did I need that!

Have a great weekend! Say something positive to someone you know is going through a rough patch. Wear a hoodie, and relate to someone before you make snap decisions.

LET’S GO RANGERS!

GO, NY KNICKS, GO!

LET’S GO METS!
