~~I spent more than 25% of my day yesterday talking about termites. My law professors would be so proud!
~~ A professional was telling me how much he’s had to cut back to make ends meet. He takes a supermarket hand basket and not a shopping cart, and stops shopping as soon as it gets heavy. He buys “whatever beer is on sale, not what I like,” and resents most of all that no matter how hard he works, he often has to forgo cookies in order to have sufficient bread for his sandwiches. I may not be an advocate for beer and cookies, but this guy has a degree and a respected health care office. It seems wrong that he can’t afford both in the same week, but he can’t. He sadly relates that his patients mostly sit home and suffer rather than seek treatment (“insurance doesn’t mean they can afford the co-pays”).
~~I apologize, but I am partly responsible for the downward trend from happy to morose detected on twitter. I tweeted a lot about the NY Mets! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/21/happiness-is-down-twitter-study_n_1162644.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003
~~This holiday seemed like the easiest one ever. When you have nothing to spare, there’s no pressure to share!
I wish you a Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Joyous Kwanzaa, or Festivus Fun! Whatever or wherever you celebrate, enjoy your weekend. And if the opportunity arises, please Occupy Somewhere!
