Please, Don’t Slap Your Buyers!

The headline seems self-evident, yet I gave out this very advice yesterday.

 

The homeowner detests his buyers, both because they “negotiated” an additional $12,000 off the house post-contract and because the buyers’ commitment requires them to close during a busy week at his office.

 

I offered to have him pre-sign the documents and then come by my office after his closes to pick up the sales proceeds. That idea seemed distasteful.

 

“I can’t afford to get fired, but I need to face these buyers. I am just waiting for the first opportunity to slap them silly.”
