Tossed Salad Friday

~~~Happy Earth Day! If we all do the slightest bit more today than we did yesterday to keep non-degradable stuff out of landfills and conserve our precious resources, think how great tomorrow will be!
~~~I had a three-week ordeal with a buyer’s attorney who refused to let his client (who was financing 95% of the purchase price) sign a contract with a clause stating the purchaser believed he qualified for a mortgage, as he knew of no reasons he’d be denied.  Finally, the seller advised, “Cut him loose!” I’ve never been so happy to see a deal expire; can you imagine tying up your house with someone who won’t even state he is going forth in good faith? Or worse (for me), how do I protect a seller with knowledge the buyer truly suspects he won’t qualify?

~~~When I attemded law school, I never envisioned using the terms “wishy-washy,” “blatantly obvious red herring,” and “total crap” in the context of legal correspondence. Yet I used all in one afternoon!
You’d think someone who fancies herself a writer could come up with something more eloquent than “total crap,” or that I could conjure a phrase with more lawyerly gravitas than “wishy-washy.” Though I thought and thought about each before hitting “send,” these were by far the most appropriate choices in the context of my correspondence.
Have a wonderful weekend—there’s so much to celebrate! Respect the Earth ~ Happy Easter~ Kalo Paska ~ Zissen Pesach ~Happy Spring ~ and lots more playoffs, please!
LET’S GO RANGERS!
GO NY, GO NY, GO!
LET’S GO METS!
