Eat This!

Home cooking* is looking good, according to the MLS chief exec quoted here, mixing up his own recipe for a very down real estate market: http://www.newsday.com/classifieds/real-estate/real-li-1.812034/li-home-sales-down-in-march-1.2814397

If you’re on a diet, you can chew on this artificially colored, processed junk food appetizer a very long time without absorbing anything.  The number of contracted sales this March compared to last March is encouraging because current numbers reflect activity in an unsubsidized market without federal incentives in place… To have current (pending) sales be off less than 10 percent from an artificially stimulated market a year ago signals that purchasers are somewhat more confident in the economic future.

I am so happy to know that 10% less activity signals an uptick in confidence. If you combine that with how much less food dollars buy nowadays (including the reduced sized products), this tasty tidbit about savoring 10% less is just so satisfying.

*Home cooking is good, unless you’re in the throes of Passover, as I am. I’m already fed up and underfed at the same time, and this is only day one! The Jews fleeing Egypt, along with my middle European ancestors, were decidedly not vegan—it seems like every holiday baked good is bound together with eggs!
