Barbara Corcoran was on the Today Show yesterday, spouting her typical combo of aggressive real estate tactics, cheerleading for the real estate industry, and dispensing of legal advice without a license.   Her focus on the segment I caught was ways to sell a home faster.

Among the deceptions tips she shared was to take your home off the market now and relist after Super Bowl Sunday, when most listing services can be “tricked” into putting it back as a “brand new listing.”

However, her hucksterism was really laid bare when she proclaimed that one of the three best areas of the home to improve was its outside appearance, or as Matt Lauer said, “When they drive up, the first thing they see is appealing to the eye.”

Barbara emphatically agreed. “Real estate has less to do with the head and logic and everything to do with the emotion. If you can hook the suckers in when they drive up, you have a better chance.”

Thanks for the advice, Barbara.  I read you loud and clear. Let’s rebuild a struggling real estate market and bolster our economy with deception, ploys, ruses, hoaxes, or whatever else it takes to dupe chumps into buying homes!

On the “transcript” for the segment on the Today show website, they’ve edited out both “tricked” and “suckers,” but the video still has both.
