Tossed Salad Friday

~~~Did you know that there are 85 guns per 100 people in this country? What the heck are we thinking?  And where the hell are we heading?
~~~If winter is getting to you (as it is to me), listen to this live audio feed of humpback whales from Hawaii. http://ht.ly/3DoWx It is definitely fascinating, and psychologically warming!

~~~This hedge fund manager really got my goat: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/alan-schram/good-news-for-real-estate_b_807742.html  He’s calculated and concluded that our whole real estate morass will be over in 2013, based on total disregard of further homes being placed on the market, among other things.  And he states that if things look up in 2013, that “does not seem so bad.”  He must have a mortgage he can comfortably pay (or none at all), a lot of stockpiled savings, and maybe a stack of gold bullion in the garage.  Because many of the people I deal with can't hang in there for six more months, let along two-plus years.
~~~I woke up yesterday morning a solid citizen of the universe, with definite Capricorn tendencies.  By the afternoon, I’d been unceremoniously stripped of my Capricorn standing and become a Sagittarius:  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/13/new-zodiac-sign-dates-oph_n_808567.html?ref=fb&src=sp#s223656&title=MoonGoddess  At my age, I shouldn’t have to learn to spell a new Zodiac sign!

Have a great weekend! The gauge of how wonderful it will be for me is how the Jets fare against NE on Sunday. But then you already knew that about me, right?

J!-E!-T!-S!  JETS! JETS! JETS!

LET’S GO RANGERS!

GO NY GO!

That "prediction" is infuriating
OK, you say that your numbers predict X or Y. But the "not so bad" comment is a slap in the face to people trying to earn a living in 2011 and 2012.

Re: That "prediction" is infuriating
I didn't want to sound too shallow so I left that out, but yes, how many of us can hang on until 2013 before our income resumes?

Took a boat trip to see whales in Maui once.
There was traffic on the way to the boat. Why? Cars were stopping on the highway to look at the whales in the water. Fantastic!

Why didn't my grandparents go straight on to Hawaii in 1918?

I can think of a dozen reasons I'd rather be in Maui.

Have a good weekend!
