I am constantly listening in on conversations, or making observations, looking for inspiration for my writing.  Sometimes I have to string together a few comments or incidents before an idea coalesces, and sometimes a topic is just handed to me on a cerebral silver platter.

In my latest Huffington Post, an idea had been percolating for a while, but I had not yet felt compelled to commit my unease with a prevalent attitude to paper.  Then, I had the misfortune to converse with a man who was bellyaching about foreclosures taking down his property values. If only borrowers losing their homes would just “try,” they could stop the foreclosure process, he  moralized.  Yes, he’d swallowed that whole “banks don’t want to foreclose” reasoning hook, line & sinker, and I had an angle for another Huffington Post!

If you’re observing tonight, I’m sending you my best Hanukkah wishes.  I’ll have a bit more to share tomorrow, though holiday cheer is far from guaranteed this year.
