Tossed Salad Friday

~~~Here’s something you don’t hear all that often at a closing:  “My sleeves didn’t roll up high enough, so I had to get my flu shot in the bathroom.”
~~~After a chatty exchange with a colleague, I was greatly pleased to be admonished, “Don’t put that in your blog!”

~~~Thanks for all the notes I got asking, “How bad was that closing?” I responded to each concerned reader with four words:  BAD. Really, really BAD.  I promise to share more here, once the writing becomes therapeutic instead of nausea inducing.
~~~Just yesterday, I heard of two instances where homeowners discovered that, even though they were paying real property taxes on homes assessed as (more valuable) two family dwellings, both were considered by the Building Departments of NYC and a Long Island village to be one family homes.  However, if they paid large fees to apply for a change, maybe they’d be successful in being granted a change.  Or else they wouldn’t succeed, in which case, decades of erroneously high tax payments would have been for naught.

~~~I believe the Jets played last weekend, but I didn’t see much of the game.  Trick or treaters rang my door bell for hours, only taking breaks during commercials (there was never so much as one T or T’er ever during a commercial break).  And what’s up with the vast majority not saying “thank you” for the candy? If I was just a bit more curmudgeonly, I’d have yelled, “Hey! Times are tough, and I could have used the money for something other than free candy for a totally ungrateful stranger!”
Have a great weekend!
LET’S GO RANGERS!
