A world-wide web apology to the mortgage rep who called me to solicit referrals. My usual “my brother’s in the business” brush-off did not deter you, and you kept blathering on and on about how you were “uniquely positioned” to protect my clients and “keep every deal viable.”
I know my mind wandered, leaving me unable to recollect how, in a time when buyers are either afraid to buy before prices stop falling or sellers can’t afford to sell at lender-appraised prices, you had all the answers within your grasp. I’m sure you noticed how disinterested I was in recommending you (someone I’d never heard of, working for a six month old company) to my valued clients.
I’ll bet you noticed I wasn’t paying attention when I said “no thanks” once too often--the last time being when you told me to “Have a nice day.” As my son would say: “My bad.”
