A Sandwich For A Closing

Sometimes you have to think on the fly to make your business move forward.  Yesterday I did just that:  I needed to have a closing occur on a certain date and time to accommodate two parties (neither of which were my clients), but the lender’s attorney didn’t want to slot in an extra closing that day, saying it would eliminate any opportunity for him to take a break and grab lunch during an anticipated 12 hour day.

Since I knew one of the other parties that required the specific closing owned a food establishment, I took a leap and promised that there would be a sandwich brought to closing if counsel acquiesced to my request.  Seems no one had offered him a food incentive since his “behave and get a cookie” days, so he bit on my bribe!
