A potential seller had an offer of $425,000 on a home he was listing for $525,000, and wanted to know if he should “offer to split the difference with the buyer?”
“Sure,” I advised, “but $100,000 is a lot of difference”, and he should let me know if the buyer actually comes up $50,000.
“Nope”, he told me later: the buyer raised the offer to $435,000.
