I am extremely pleased with the addition of Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. Will I always agree with her positions? Probably not, as many of her decisions are more moderate than many of her detractors admitted. But am I proud to have such a smart and empathetic justice rendering justice in the highest court in our country? You bet.
I almost resigned from admittance to the Supreme Court a few times: when Rehnquist made a mockery of Bill Clinton’s impeachment, when the still silent Clarence Thomas became a justice, and when payback politics was played to deny Al Gore the presidency. But ennui intervened (if being semi-perpetually dissatisfied can be considered any kind of interference with action) and I am still a card carrying counselor admitted to practice in front of the Supreme Court.
Right now, I’m glad I didn’t resign. But I sure did flip (four to six) of the justices a lot of birds in my mind!

Have a wonderful weekend! We can’t use the boat at all, because we have a birthday party on Saturday and another on Sunday, smack in the midst of each day. So that means the sun should shine and you’ll all enjoy 90 degree days…
