I was part of a three attorney panel presenting a real estate seminar to our Bar Association on “How To Save A Real Estate Transaction.”

Maybe I’ll write more tomorrow, or soon, on the topic, but I just wanted to share that after 27 years, I learned some practical tips from my co-presenters.  And yet, I have colleagues who practically boast that they never attend Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses, as they are a “waste of time.”  Yes, some are awful, but most have some nuggets of useful information.

So if you are thinking about hiring an attorney, ask him or her if the regularly attend CLE courses in their area of expertise (some fulfill state CLE requirements with fluff courses or by other various non-learning means).  If they don’t get their CLE in the field  in which you need their help, I’m thinking you may want to re-think your representation.
