Ain't That A Shame

In response to my real estate related Huffington Post-ings, I received this e-mail from a man in Port St. Lucie, Florida:

I read your comments in an article on short sales verses foreclosures somewhere on google. Anyway, I couldn’t agree with you more. We live in South Florida, Port St Lucie. And purchased a home in 2006 at 300K. Hoped to refi later on at a better rate. It was like a slap in the face when we were turned down by HSBC Mortgage. We tried several attempts at Loan Modification and were also turned down to add unsympathetically. To exasperate the later HSBC informed me two weeks ago they were not doing any REFI's. And we have been on time with all of our Mortgage Payments for the past three years but one...and that was and extension right before my Disability Claim was in process. I am a Disabled Combat War Veteran as well with limited income. And the Mortgage Lenders have received over 100K since the closing as well...lots of cash upfront. And your right they’re not interested at all in giving back in time of need. But as the old saying goes...what comes around will go around...

He perfectly sums up the plight of so many.
