Hello? Is Anybody Out There?

I’ve got a deal where the buyer and her attorney are totally uncommunicative.  Unless I ask for status or basically harass them into doing something, nothing happens.  And if I get a response, it appears to be a form letter.

So when the time came for the mortgage commitment being due (again, after two 15 day extensions granted by my clients), I again asked “what’s up?”  The unsurprising response after two days of faxing, e-mails, and calls to the broker was a pro-forma fax request for an extra 15 days.  The communication had no status report or a single word of personalization that would give my client a clue as to what is going on.

When I called to discuss whether or not the extension would be granted, my client wanted to know if she was wasting her time.  I advised I had zero to share, and the response I was requested to convey to the buyer’s attorney today is:  “Seller wants to know if your client actually gives a shit about buying this house.”

I bet the buyer’s attorney doesn’t have a form response to that question.
