A Welcome Reminder

I’m having a rough go.  There’s been at least five days of gorgeous weather I’ve only seen from my window, as I’ve been sitting at my computer almost non-stop since last Thursday.  This past Saturday was the first Mets home Saturday game I watched from home rather than being in the ballpark since sometime last century, which really threw me for that proverbial loop.  And of course, the Rangers broke my heart again this season.

But while trying to fit in all my writing for Boating Times Long Island, this blog, and HuffPo around my primary career as an attorney, I met with some very nice new clients.  We talked, I answered a ton of questions, and explained the process of selling a home and buying a new one with them in detail.  It is what I do, and while every person and situation is different, explaining the development and progression of a real estate transaction is second nature to me.

Thus after our long consultation, I did not feel I had done anything unusual or out of the ordinary.  Certainly nothing praiseworthy.  But my clients looked at me with apparent relief and a lessening of the anxiety that had seemed to encase them like a winter’s coat on an 80 degree April day.

They grasped my hands and expressed their relief that I’d be guiding them.  And as I remembered why I used to like doing what I do, I had the briefest shedding of my own winter’s cloak.
