Me, Me, Me

The house was in contract when Long Island was hit by Hurricane Gloria. When I returned to the office a few days later, the buyer was waiting in the office foyer. She wanted to speak, and so I listened.

“I am worried about the hurricane. Do you think anything got shaken up or broken?  Do you think I should ask the sellers to let my inspector check for damage? What does the contract provide?”

I asked if when she called to see if the sellers were OK, did she have any suspicion that the house suffered damages?

“No,” she replied. “I wasn’t concerned about them… per se… just the house. Am I obligated to ask about them?”
