Absence Makes the Home Sell Faster

The homeowners were asked not to be home when their real estate agent brought by prospective purchasers. They were a little insulted, they told me, until their agent shared a horror story about a seller-buyer interaction.

It seems that the buyers had walked through a home, commenting loudly on what they didn’t like about each room. To hear it told, the sellers had the worst taste in decorating, ever.

The problem was, the sellers were sitting in the den, where they were able to hear almost every single put-down and critical remark.

Finally, one of the sellers had enough, and she yelled, “Get out, get out! You couldn’t pay me enough to buy this house!”

The people telling me the story were laughing, saying that it would have been better to take the nasty people’s money, rather than kicking them out. “That’s why we’ll stay away,” they said. “We’ll sell our house to anybody with money, even if they hate it.”

Just for the record
I really like the photo I chose. I'd like to live in a house decorated like that!
